Shades of Blue

Hello, friends! Just wanted to pop in quickly with a quick update on what I’ve been working on lately.

School is wrapping up for the year and baseball season is officially over, so I’m hoping to have a little more time for my art practice through the summer.

I’ve been exploring watercolors a lot and have been doing a few portrait studies. I’ve worked on a few abstract floral journal pages, and have focused on several monochromatic value studies.  The lighting hasn’t been great for snapping pictures when I’ve had time to create lately, so I only have one picture to show you today.

This was done in acrylic on watercolor paper with Prussian Blue. Isn’t it such a gorgeous color? I feel like I’ve achieved the correct values but am reluctant to move forward and risk messing her up. Next for this girl is some proper skin tone. I’ll share more later as I have time!

To keep up with all my most recent projects, remember to follow me on Instagram.

Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

xoxo
