Dear Creative Friend

I’m excited to share a new blog series with you today! “Dear Creative Friend” will be little notes of inspiration to the creative soul. These may be written in response to something a friend is struggling with or they may simply something I’m writing to myself. Either way, I hope that each one speaks to your heart. And so, here is the first installment.

Dear Creative Friend,

Be wild and free in celebrating your gifts.

Accept them. Sometimes we can’t see the wonderful things that are within us. They may be something that we take for granted, or something that doesn’t seem that special. But other people can see them, and other people recognize how special they truly are. Your gifts are a source of joy and inspiration and they were given to you for a reason.

Honor your gifts. Put them to good use; do not sacrifice them or let them go to waste. Make them a part of your everyday life instead of waiting for a special occasion.

Continue to cultivate them. Allow yourself the time to learn and grow and the freedom to explore. Embrace the person that is emerging. Using your gifts brings a spark of life and vitality into everything you do. That, in turn, will make you perform better in all of your roles.

And then let those beautiful gifts go. Have the courage to share your offerings with the world. Use your gifts to bring joy and beauty to the people around you, and that beauty will spread far further than you thought was possible.
